Position: Finance Assistant

Overview: BAMBD, CDC is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our team. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and timely payments. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable: manage invoicing, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collection
  • Financial Reporting: maintain accurate financial records related to payroll and accounts receivable, preparing regular reports for the finance team and leadership
  • Data Entry: accurately enter financial data into accounting software, ensuring all transactions are documented and reconciled
  • Reconciliation: assist in reconciling accounts receivable and payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Compliance: ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding payroll and financial transactions
  • Customer Interaction: communicate with clients and community partners regarding invoices and payment inquiries, providing excellent customer service
  • Support: assist the finance team with other tasks as needed, including financial audits, budget preparation, and special projects
  • Federal/State/Local Filings: assist accountant in the preparation of our annual Form 990 for the IRS and also ensure timely compliance with local and state filing requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience in accounts receivable management
  • Experience with Quickbooks
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and Google Suite
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Familiarity with non-profit financial management is a plus
  • Commitment to BAMBD, CDC’s mission and values, and a passion for supporting the arts and culture community

Salary Range (depending on experience): $52,000-60,000

Hours: 8–12 hours/week
